Re: I Have High Hopes for the Republicans (none / 0)

It's certainly possible.  However, some of them (like Ross and Reihan) actually have a clue.  Maybe some good will come of this.

Re: I Have High Hopes for the Republicans (none / 0)

Not just possible, likely... The right turns even more right in a crisis... they've been smart enough to do otherwise with presidential elections ("compassionate conservative" Bush in 2000, McCain the maverick now), but McCain's loss along with the pummeling the other republicans are expected to receive will ignite a purge of their "DLC" wing (what's left of it), and focus on ideological purity.

just as they believe that the reason they are losing to Obama is that they aren't smearing him enough, they will say that the reason why republicans aren't winning is 'cos they aren't conservative enough.

I hope I'm wrong.

It profits a PUMA nothing to give their soul for the whole world... but for McCain? --Sir Thomas More (if he were here now)
