Hey. Not a Clinton supporter. But congratulations guys. You've all worked really hard, and you deserve a victory. I've learned more about Hillary's strengths in the last two months, and she's no longer in Bill's shadow, but proved herself a formidable politician in her own right.

Wow, the Obama supporters are really pretending to be nice. . . so you did read the memo.

But sorry, I'm still not voting for Obama if he is the nominee.

Re: Clinton Supporters Election Night Open Thread (2.00 / 1)

You know what. No memo. No ulterior motive. I've just seen how Zane and people like that have worked, and begun to understand how they care about their candidate as I care about mine.

Vote for who you like. It's a free country.

Congradulations... (2.00 / 1)

Clinton knocked one out of the park here.

Agree with the 1st comment... (2.00 / 1)

...I too am supporting Obama, but I'll tell you.  I think Clinton would make a great president, but it's her supporters that really worked hard.  I grew up across the street from the Rodham's cottage at Lake Winola, and have seen the energy that everyone in our area has poured into this race.  In a 70%-30% district its hard to be an Obama supporter.
Hillary's supporters do deserve a big feel good win.  They worked their butts off.  I'm still hoping she will take the VP slot.  I think that makes an unbeatable ticket.
Either way, Clintons campaign since Penn left has been operating like a well oiled machine.

Hillary will win big! Hillary will regain the popular vote tonight! Hillary will declare Victory and then ask us all to go donate to her. Hillary will call for Barack Obama to drop out tonight!

by Hillarywillwin on Tue May 13, 2008 at 06:15:50 PM EST

Congrats... (2.00 / 1)

...to Senator Clinton and all her supporters, who worked the phones, got out the vote and went door to door for tonight's expected big win.  This is a big night for all of you, so enjoy it.  You earned it.

Best of luck going forward to you all...

Just wanted to tag along to this and say congrats to all of those who helped Senator Clinton in West Viriginia. This will be a big win for her and she and all of her supporters deserve it.

Re: Clinton Supporters Election Night Open Thread (none / 0)

Man would it be nice if Obama won Oregon by 20+.

It sure is nice though to see the media ignore Obama's early blowouts of Clinton in prior contests by 30+ points.

by RussTC3 on Tue May 13, 2008 at 07:15:59 PM EST

Looking at the exit polls, I'd Say Obama (none / 0)

will exceed expectations.

If 72% of voters would be satisfied with Clinton as nominee, even a quarter of Obama voters agree with that, she will finish well under 80%, and may not even achieve what should be a cinchy 2-1 margin.

Re: Clinton Supporters Election Night Open Thread (none / 0)

Considering that he outspent her more than 2:1

. . . and his "leaked" prediction said he would lose by only 53-44, I think he is getting a good old fashioned thumping.

More Recent Info, ex-Pres prediction (none / 0)

The leaked memo was outdated, the most recent barometer said Clinton 80-20.

No hard feelings though--we knew Clinton has been carrying low-income, low-education whites throughout the primary season. I just wish the media would stop acting as if this low turnout, proportionally-dimished demographic was going to be decisive in the GE. At least since '88 middle and upper-middle income suburbanites have been the decisive demo, not the people who have come to constitute Clinton's support.

Maybe Kerry thought the same thing in 2008.

Clinton has been taking the suburbs (none / 0)

Didn't you notice Pennsylvania. She took the Philly burbs that Obama cas counting on to go for him, like she too more new voters and young voters and men and educated and more affluent and onn and on.  This is a deepening trend.

She totaled him in all of his core groups tonight except African Americans and the exit pollers did not see enough of them to measure.
