HRC Fans Election Day/Night Thread

This is an open thread for HRC fans to post election day news and gossip,

This is in Tribute to Alegre, New Hampster and TexasDarling who write such great stuff for us supporters to read.

I thought i would post Maya's Poem for Hillary again, i know i know you've read it a million times already, but for me it just becomes more pertinent every day as this election campaign goes on. For all of those who say her story isn't as compelling as obamas, for all those who say she is a roadblock to history, for all the haters and for al l the doubters, Mrs Angelou has something to say and i suggest you listen.

State Package for Hillary Clinton

Photobucket

You may write me down in history

With your bitter, twisted lies,

You may tread me in the very dirt

But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Photobucket

This is not the first time you have seen Hillary Clinton seemingly at her wits' end, but she has always risen, always risen, don't forget she has always risen, much to the dismay of her adversaries and the delight of her friends.

[Photobucket

Hillary Clinton will not give up on you and all she asks of you is that you do not give up on her.

Photobucket

There is a world of difference between being a woman and being an old female. If you're born a girl, grow up, and live long enough, you can become an old female. But to become a woman is a serious matter. A woman takes responsibility for the time she takes up and the space she occupies. Hillary Clinton is a woman. She has been there and done that and has still risen. She is in this race for the long haul. She intends to make a difference in our country. Hillary Clinton intends to help our country to be what it can become.

Photobucket

She declares she wants to see more smiles in the family, more courtesies between men and women, more honesty in the marketplace. She is the prayer of every woman and man who longs for fair play, healthy families, good schools, and a balanced economy.

Photobucket

She means to rise.

Photobucket

Don't give up on Hillary. In fact, if you help her to rise, you will rise with her and help her make this country the wonderful, wonderful place where every man and every woman can live freely without sanctimonious piety and without crippling fear.

Photobucket

Rise, Hillary.

Rise.

Now for the love of God, will somebody please post an exit poll!

Re: HRC Fans Election Day/Night Thread (2.00 / 2)

ain't she pretty lol

I am hearing a lot of good news from Indiana both from the calls I've made and the reports on the ground there .

I think NC is going to be much closer than the double digit win

"she is totally hot."

So agree!  She will always be "my girl." (the word "girl" only used in the most honoring intention, and because she herself has used it).

Rise, Hillary, rise!

I like the picture of Bill and Hillary in the 70s!

Bill and Hillary's male support, OT (2.00 / 0)

"Still, he voted for Clinton because the tax holiday is one of the few issues he disagrees with her on. "I got about as much faith in her as I do anyone else, and I like her views on health care," Nall said. "I think her experience will help us and it won't hurt that she's got Bill."

From today's The Trail, WAPO.

This is sort of off topic, but since this is a "Hillary" diary, I would like to put this out here.

I've listened to many interviews with her voters.  On many of those, certainly not all but particularly the men, voters have made comments like "it doesn't hurt that she has Bill behind her," or I feel comfortable because she's got Bill.  As a woman, as a feminist, this language makes me squirm, but I have never heard any of her supporters address it, although they address sexism (and rightfully), where it occurs in Obama's campaign.  I would really like to think those who vote for her are not voting for Bill Clinton II.  I know this is a ridiculous day to even be commenting on this, I just would like to see her support taking the kind of offense to this that I do and would if it were any woman candidate with a high-level political spouse.

Re: Bill and Hillary's male support, OT (2.00 / 2)

i agree that it is sexist for people to only feel comfortable because she has a strong man behind her. Personally i like that bill is there not because he can help Hill in the white house but rather because i just like him alot.

Hillary will be a strong president with or without her Husband.

I just read that in a piece covering the elections today and it made me see red.

Re: Bill and Hillary's male support, OT (2.00 / 1)

yeah you are right we need to get more forthright about calling the bull like that when we see it.

Im sure some of the reason people aren't more vociferous in countering those arguments, is because the assume it helps Hill, but i take your view that any short term gain like that is outweighed by damage it could do in the long term, especially once she is in the WH. It could undermine her authority.

I agree 100% (none / 0)

Here's a relevant joke...

Question:
If Bill Clinton had never met Hillary Rodham, where would they be today?

Answer:
Hillary would be married to an ex-President, a US Senator and running for President of the US.

Bill who?

I squirm - but they have right to say it (none / 0)

My hope is that once she's in office and performs they'll see her in her own right.

Once I saw her campaigning on her own I really started to solidify my decision to vote for her. She looked commanding, somebody with her own kind of star quality.

Re: HRC Fans Election Day/Night Thread (2.00 / 1)

Great Great Diary/Thread....Thanks for this.

Calls I've made today for IN seem to be doing well for HRC.

Anyone making calls to NC?  How is that going?

      She asks us no questions
       she tells us no lies
      and when we address her
    looks straight in our eyes
content with a little she never despairs
but in all of our troubles she willingly shares
      she asks for so little
      she gives us so much
    then always let sympathy
       dwell in my touch
