Bo Diddley dead at 79

Bo Diddley, the musical pioneer whose songs, such as "Who Do You Love?" and "Bo Diddley," melded rhythm and blues and rock 'n' roll through a distinctive thumping beat, has died. He was 79.

Diddley died Monday, surrounded by family and loved ones at his home in Archer, Florida, a family spokeswoman said.

The cause was heart failure, his family said.

I loved this man's music (2.00 / 4)

He will be sorely missed but we are all better for his having been here.

Hey Bo Diddley!

Blues Fest in Chicago this weekend. I expect to hear that rhythm pouring from the stage more than a few times.

R.I.P.

He will be missed.  One of the great bluesmen.

This may date me (from both directions) but, the first version of 'Who Do You Love' that I remember hearing was by the Grateful Dead. It was years later before I found out the original artist.

Good enough for Jerry is good enough for me.

Bo Diddly will be missed....his music will live on.

That's sad.

Your old role is rapidly aging. Please get out of the new one if you can't lend a hand, for the times they are a changing.
