Yes (none / 0)

and he has never hit 49% in Gallup. He's at 49% in Gallup and Rasmussen.

Obama's trip to Europe was (none / 0)

an act of sheer political ingenuity, and it was executed more than flawlessly, but with aplomb and class.

It was truly in the best tradition of JFK.  Are we living at the birth of a new black Camelot?

Oh, ... there's an idea - someone shoudl stage Camelot now with an all african-american cast!

Who would play Arthur?  Launcelot?  Guennevere?

Re: Gallup Updates: Obama up by 9 points (2.00 / 2)

All this nonsense about how Americans might not like someone who is respected abroad turns out to be -- nonsense.

And, of course, this explains why McCain has his scurrilous ad out about the troop visit. He has really gone over the top lately, stating that Obama "would rather lose the war than lose an election." Hagel criticized him today and methinks the opinion press and other leaders are going to come down hard on McCain.

Re: Gallup Updates: Obama up by 9 points (2.00 / 1)

McCain is coming off as a whiner with a short fuse.  I don't think that's something he wants to come back at him.  Remember in 2000 the constant stories about his anger, and what happened to "angry" Howard Dean.

One of the recent polls showed that people liked Obama much better (they would rather have him over for a cookout than McCain), and that is actually a better predictor of who will win than whether people side with a candidate on the issues.

One small correction (2.00 / 1)

McCain IS a whiner with a short fuse.

Re: One small correction (none / 0)

And when he says he would have gone "seismic" if people said he couldn't visit the troops, that supports that true picture that he is a guy with a short temper!

Re: Gallup Updates: Obama up by 9 points (none / 0)

Wow. This is what I was sincerely hoping to see. McCain and his surrogates this past week made complete asses of themselves. I'm not sure which was stupidest:
The golf cart
The German sausage restaurant
The supermarket with the cue cards.
